Karlo Kacharava was an artist, poet and art critic. The exhibition "Karlo Kacharava Today" is an attempt to unite several aspects of his poetry, critical letters and artistic work. Karlo Kacharava wrote and painted almost a quarter of a century ago, it is still relevant for the society today and these parallels can be clearly seen in the example of the works of contemporary Georgian artists that are presented at the exhibition.

Most of the exhibits are works on canvas. One of the halls is dedicated to Karlo Kacharava's 1988 painting "General" and other romantic portraits on the subject. Kacharava wrote and painted on social themes, closed factories and factories in the early 1990s. Next to Chelidze's emotionally naked portraits, and the controversy between his crucifixion and Giorgi Khaniashvili's "Resurrection," beyond the religious community will show the extreme spiritual loneliness of these authors.

In the spring of 2017, Karlo Kacharava's works participated in a group exhibition in New York. In one of the reviews of the exhibition, a well-known American critic called his painting a forerunner of Karen Kilimannick's punk creations. The American audience got acquainted with the previously unknown Kacharava through this magazine and visual hints through the magazine "Artforum".

The inclusion of the works of young artists in the personal exhibition of Karlo Kacharava offers similar visual and conceptual hints to the museum visitor.

The exhibition will also feature photos of Guram Tsibakhashvili, works by Nino Kvrivishvili, Levan Chelidze and Giorgi Khaniashvili.
